  This fun-focused family trip packs in a staggering abundance of flavourful food, fascinating culture, untouched nature, and disarmingly friendly people. You'll enjoy cruising Halong Bay, exploring the Imperial Citadel, and a boat trip to a floating market, with time to relax.

• What are the age requirements for participants on this family tour?

  This family adventure is suitable for children aged 6 and up, with a maximum age of 100. Please note that one adult can only accompany up to two minors; if you have more than two minors, a second adult will be required.

• What types of accommodation will be provided during the tour?

  Accommodation includes 8 nights in hotels, 1 night in a homestay, 1 night on a sleeper train, and 1 night on an overnight junk boat in Halong Bay. Families will generally be sharing rooms on a twin or triple basis, either adjoining or in close proximity to each other.

• How many meals are included in the tour price?

  The tour includes 11 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 2 dinners. Generally, other meals are not included to give you flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat.

• What modes of transportation are used throughout the tour?

  We will use a variety of transport including train, bus, plane, cyclo, tuk-tuk, and boat, providing diverse experiences of getting around Vietnam.

• What is the expected physical activity level for this tour?

  The tour has a physical rating of 2. An average level of fitness and mobility is required, meaning travelers should be able to walk without aid, climb 3-4 flights of stairs, step on and off small boats, and carry their own luggage.

• Is tipping customary or expected in Vietnam?

  Yes, tipping service providers such as waiters (approximately 10%), local guides, and drivers is customary and appreciated. Your Chief Experience Officer (CEO) can offer specific recommendations. Tipping your CEO is also appreciated, with a guideline of $10-15 USD per person per week.

• What currency is primarily used in Vietnam and are credit cards widely accepted?

  The local currency in Vietnam is Vietnamese Dong (VND). While there are many ATM machines accepting Visa and Mastercard in major cities, it is recommended to carry cash, especially small unmarked USD notes. Major credit cards are accepted in some shops but may incur a 2-4% transaction fee.
